Cuban Racing Pigeons,"from CUBA."

Postby Mader631 » Sun Mar 10, 2013 4:35 pm

"Hatched in CUBA, flew to the USA," I got a contact in Key West, FL. That races pigeons, this guy every spring finds lost racing pigeons that fly over to the US from Cuba. These birds have Cuban leg bands that say FCC ( Federacion Colombofila de Cuba). I told him to send me a breeding pair up here to Wisconsin, I should be getting this pair very soon. I'm curious about what would be the bloodines on this stuff, of the birds he had found from Cuba in Key West, FL. I'll be breeding this pair to see how there YB's preform, but I will keep them quarintined in a breeding cage, I'm not sure what virus or deseases that they could be carrying also. My contact is a good pigeon racer, he said the Cuban birds seem to have very good eyesign, and nice build to them. Hes sending me a pair of Cubans that he recommended that would go good with each other by looks and build. Would be nice if there ybs would race good!!! Definitely something different! Any comments?

they have a lot of the old blood, not too many people if any can import pigeons in to cuba, some hide the eggs and take them in without customs knowing but thats very few.dose birds probably got blown in to the waters and landed on a boat and made it to the us.good luck.

I was told from a guy who use to live in Cuba, he said many Cuban pigeons are Stassarts, Jansen, and some very old strains that have been mixed in. So, I guess we will see what my pairs YB's will end up performing at and how good they will be, going to be interesting!!

The Cuban Birds. Top one is a 2010 Cock: (CUBA) FCC-109149/10. The other one is a 2012 Hen: (CUBA) FCC-FCI-019995/12.

That cock is quite handsome. Very robust looking bird.

Yeah he's not a large cock bird either, the guy who sending me these is sending me another Cuban hen now too, I guess this other bird is a 2011 blue bar splash hen that is built like this dark cock bird. I will have 3 Cuban birds to work with now!!!
